The love of selfless service and honoring America runs in my blood; I’m the third child of two United States Army Veterans. I was born at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. I primarily lived in North Georgia and South Florida for most of my adolescence. After graduating with Honors from high school, I joined the United States Army as a Cryptologic Linguist speaking both Farsi (Iran) and Dari (Afghanistan). My military service took me all over the country and the world, exposing me to different types of people, cultures, problems, and solutions.  Most notably, I was stationed at the National Security Agency, where I met my husband serving in the United States Navy.

As a Sergeant in the United States Army, my focus was on instilling kindness and empathy into a historically demanding and hardhearted profession. I believe that there is a time for seriousness on the battlefield, but people also need compassion in order to grow into the best versions of themselves. I preached this mindset until the day I left the service, following my husband to his next and final duty station: Norfolk, Virginia.

In 2020, the pandemic happened, and we switched our mindset to self-sustenance; we became really interested in homesteading. We wanted to raise our own meat, plant our own food, and preserve those things for the future. In 2021, I gave birth to our son and my husband medically retired from the military. Dreaming of lots of land and animals, we moved to West Virginia and we found the property of our dreams in Hampshire County, District 88.

While my husband is going to school at Potomac State, I am the main caregiver for my son. I am currently working to finish a bachelor’s degree in accounting. I am also working toward establishing our farm business and working on my crafting business that celebrates Appalachians of the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. When I’m not busy chasing my son around with our chickens, I love focusing on how I can help underserved people.
